In response to Rich Stever’s Feb. 8 letter “Republican principles in decline,” to clarify his comment of “Roosevelt” as a Republican, it is true that Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican. But let us not be confused with Franklin D. Roosevelt, the creator of the successful Social Security program and a proud Democrat.
