2A GSHL football: Ridgefield 21, Mark Morris 7

The Ridgefield Spudders set the tone on the very first play from scrimmage against the visiting Mark Morris Monarchs when running back Jeremy Martin took the direct snap from center and galloped untouched around the left end for a 74-yard touchdown. He added a second score in the second quarter.

Fullback Jalen Williams was the workhorse for the Spudders, gaining 140 tough yards on 25 carries. The Spudders outrushed the Monarchs 264-119 in the ball control slugfest.
