The victim killed in a shooting at a Portland park Tuesday has been identified as a Vancouver teenager.

Shawn Scott Jr., 17, died of a single gunshot wound, ruled a homicide, at Holladay Park near the Lloyd Center, Portland police said.

Scott was a junior at Union High School, according to Evergreen Public Schools spokeswoman Gail Spolar. Counselors were available at the school Wednesday to help students and staff.

Officers were called to the park, 1125 N.E. Holladay St., at about 4:30 p.m. for a report of someone with a gunshot injury.

Police and fire personnel responded and tried to revive the male, but he died at the scene, police said.

Portland police said the suspects fled the scene after the shooting and have not been located.

Officers believe there are multiple witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detectives Erik Kammerer or Mark Slater at 503-823-0400.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is also offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
