Letter: Work against oil terminal

By Jean M. Avery, Vancouver
Published: August 12, 2017, 6:00am

If North America’s largest crude oil terminal is approved for Vancouver, what will become of picnics at Vancouver Lake, festivals in Esther Short Park, and the new development on the waterfront?

If you care about quality of life in our livable city, please take action:

• Attend the hearing at Clark College Columbia Tech Center, between 1 and 9 p.m. Aug. 22.

• Comment at www.efsec.wa.gov (under Tesoro/Savage “permits”).

• Support port commissioner candidate Don Orange, who wants clean jobs and “a vibrant local economy” in Vancouver, while also protecting our “treasured part of the world.”

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
