As long as the weather cooperates, the city of Vancouver will begin its paving project on Northeast 18th Street today or Thursday. Workers need several days of dry, warm weather to complete the paving project. Northeast 18th Street will see improvements from Four Seasons Lane to Northeast 136th Avenue.

The corridor will also soon see additional travel lanes, a new traffic signal system and pedestrian facilities. Construction on these larger improvements worth $12.5 million began in early 2017 but will wrap up soon.

The city will notify drivers of expected paving via message boards. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, although construction hours could extend until 8 p.m. or include weekends if needed. More information is available at www.cityofvancouver.us/18thStreet.
