Clark County – Three more candidates have filed papers to run for political office during the official filing week.

Republican Clark County Assessor Peter Van Nortwick has an unexpected challenger after Norbert Schlecht, who has no party preference, filed to run for the position on Wednesday.

Republican Clark County Councilor Julie Olson will also have an opponent after Elisabeth Veneman filed to challenge her as a Republican. Neither had previously announced they were running.

Mary Elkin also filed to challenge Laurie Lebowsky for her seat on the Vancouver City Council.
