PORTLAND — The Portland Trail Blazers will keep center Chris Kaman for the immediate future. The deadline to waive him and the $4 million in non-guaranteed money has passed and Kaman will get his full $5 million in salary next season.
Perhaps Sunday will fade in significance as the rest of this MLS season unfolds, but Portland Timbers fans will surely enjoy the memory of a 4-1 win over their heated rivals from Seattle at steamy Providence Park.

Kole Calhoun scored the winning run on a wild pitch by Tom Wilhelmsen in the 10th inning after Albert Pujols grounded into a bases-loaded double play against a five-man infield, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2 on Sunday.
