DEER ISLAND, Ore. (AP) — The man killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 30 at Deer Island had purchased the new Harley just a week earlier.

Oregon State Police say the 29-year-old St. Helens man, John Rethati, was following his father Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle went out of control on a curve and struck a guardrail.
