A two-vehicle collision is slowing traffic this morning on State Route 14 near the Interstate 5 interchange, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Two westbound lanes of State Route 14 were closed after a car apparently slammed into the back of a pickup truck. The wreck was first reported at about 9 a.m., near Exit 1, west of Columbia House Boulevard.

One person was transported to an area hospital for precautionary reasons, said Jim Flaherty, a Vancouver Fire Department spokesman.

The backup has spread to southbound Interstate 5, according to reports.

The state patrol is investigating. The Washington Department of Transportation has been called on to help direct traffic.
