NEW YORK (AP) — Patrick Murray kicked three field goals and Fordham recovered a fumble at the Columbia 9-yard line with 47 seconds left for a 16-9 victory on Saturday.

After Darryl Whiting’s 1-yard run with 4:58 remaining gave the visiting Rams (2-1) their first lead since the first quarter, the Lions (0-1) drove from their 18 to a first-and-goal at the Fordham 4.

On the next play, the snap went awry and Anthony Lubischer recovered at the 9 for Fordham.

Murray kicked field goals of 24, 22 and 21 yards, the last of which tied the game with 9:53 remaining. After a three-and-out by Columbia, Fordham drove 69 yards in 11 plays for Whiting’s score.

Xavier Martin gained 105 yards on 16 carries for the Rams.

Sean Brackett was 13-for-21 passing for 170 yards and a 14-yard touchdown to Mike Stephens that gave Columbia a 9-3 third-quarter lead.
