COSMOPOLIS, Wash. (AP) — After hearing from citizens, Cosmopolis Mayor Vickie Raines says she’ll veto the ordinance passed by the city council this week to limit the height of lawns to 8 inches and fine homeowners $200 a day for failing to mow.

Raines told KBKW (http://bit.ly/pyivFd ) Friday she didn’t like the wording in the ordinance. She says “If you’re going to make the residents abide by a certain law, then your business community should have to do the same.”

The city council may discuss the veto at next month’s meeting.
