Simms-Edwards leads Bradley past Evansville 68-54

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Dyricus Simms-Edwards scored 25 points to lead Bradley to a 68-54 victory over Evansville on Saturday night.

Bradley’s Andrew Warren added 17 points, including 3 of 4 on 3-pointers, before fouling out. Dodie Dunson scored 12 points for the Braves (9-17, 3-12 Missouri Valley), who have won three of four following an 11-game losing streak.

Colt Ryan scored 14 points to pace the Purple Aces (14-11, 8-7), who have dropped eight straight in Peoria. Ryan went 2 of 6 from 3-point range, but his teammates were 0-for-7.

Simms-Edwards converted 9 of 16, including two 3-pointers, and tied Will Egolf with eight rebounds each.

The Braves ran off 12 consecutive points for a 28-19 edge before the Purple Aces answered with eight in a row. Bradley took a 32-29 lead into halftime and extended it to 44-35 on Warren’s three-point play.

Evansville got no closer than six after that.
