Hawaii beats Fresno State 62-52

HONOLULU (AP) — Vander Joaquim scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Hawaii to a 62-52 victory over Fresno State on Thursday night.

Four players scored in double figures for the Rainbow Warriors (11-8, 2-5 WAC). Bill Amis also had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Joston Thomas contributed 12 points and seven rebounds and Bo Barnes scored 12 points for Hawaii, which has won back-to-back games after losing its first five in the conference.

Hawaii led 41-21 at halftime, as they shot 52 percent from the field and made 7 of 10 from 3-point range. Fresno State (7-10, 3-4) started the second half with a 12-3 run, and eventually came within 48-43 with 7:08 to play, but the Bulldogs came no closer.

Garrett Johnson scored 14 points to lead Fresno State, which dropped its fourth straight. Nedeljko Golubovic added 13 points.
