Clements has 25, San Diego St tops No. 18 DePaul

HONOLULU (AP) — Courtney Clements scored 25 points and San Diego State used a late surge to beat No. 18 DePaul 82-74 on Friday in the Rainbow Wahine Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Blue Demons scored six in a row to get within 63-61 with 5:45 remaining, but the Aztecs went on a 10-0 run for a 12-point lead with 2:31 left.

Kiyana Stamps added 17 points, Melissa Sweat had 14 and Chairese Culberson chipped in 10 for San Diego State (2-0). Culberson grabbed nine rebounds and Clements added eight as the Aztecs held a 47-38 advantage on the boards.

Keisha Hampton scored 27 points for DePaul (2-1).

After trailing by 12 early on, DePaul rallied to take a 29-27 lead after two free throws by Anna Martin with 2:55 remaining in the first half. The game was tied 33-all at halftime.
