Chelatchie Prairie — The first section of the new Chelatchie Prairie Rail Trail is nearing completion. The trail, which is accessible from the entrance road to Battle Ground Lake, needs some final lighting installation before it opens to the public next month. The 0.9-mile paved section of trail runs along picturesque pastures and through rows of autumn trees, parallel to the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad tracks. When the entire trail is completed, it will run from Vancouver to Amboy. For more information about the trail project, visit http://www.clark.wa.gov/publicworks/chelatchie/index.html.
