NEW YORK (AP) — Awesome Feather, last season’s unbeaten champion 2-year-old filly, won the $58,800 Le Slew Stakes in her comeback race at Belmont Park on Wednesday to put her record at 7 for 7.

The 1-5 favorite beat Sentimental Lass by two lengths in the seven-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies. Awesome Feather, with Jeffrey Sanchez aboard for new trainer Chad Brown, was timed in 1:22.76.

Owner Frank Stronach bought Awesome Feather for $2.3 million several days after her Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies victory last November. She has been sidelined with a tendon problem.

The winner paid $2.50, $2.50 and $2.10. Sentimental Lass returned $4.50 and $2.70. Flying Train showed at $2.30.
