NEW YORK (AP) — Mahubo, the 1-2 favorite, held off Indy Scent by a neck Friday to capture the $73,500 Three Coins Up Stakes on the turf at Aqueduct.

It was the second victory in five U.S. starts for the 6-year-old gelding bred in South Africa. Mahubo, ridden by Rosie Napravnik and trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, rallied to the lead at the top of the stretch and won in a three-way photo finish.

The time was 1:42.62 for the 1 1-16 miles on a firm course.

Mahubo paid $3.10, $2.30 and $2.10. Indy Scent returned $3.90 and $3.10 while Rustler Hustler, a head back in third, paid $3.30 to show.
