James, Parratto lead women’s 10m synchro prelims

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Anna James and Jessica Parratto led the women’s 10-meter synchro preliminaries at the U.S. national diving championships.

Preliminaries were held Friday in the four synchronized diving events. James, of Midland, Texas, and Parratto, of Dover, N.H., had 310.26 points. Cheyenne Cousineau of Michigan and Samantha Bromberg of Ohio were second with 289.23.

Steele Johnson of Carmel, Ind., was part of the top two teams in the men’s 10-meter event. He and Dashiell Enos of Studio City, Calif., had 400.89 points. He then teamed with Toby Stanley of Arkansas to earn 381.78 points.

Justin Dumais and Dwight Dumais — both of Ventura, Calif. — had 411.99 points in the men’s 3-meter competition. Meghan Houston of Austin, Texas, and Laura Ryan of Elk River, Minn., had 268.20 points in the women’s 3-meter event.
