Girls basketball: Prairie 72, Mark Morris 71

Aislinn Konig buried a 3-pointer with five seconds to play to lift the Prairie girls basketball team to a 72-71 non-league win over Mark Morris Tuesday in Longview.

Mark Morris led 37-31 at halftime and 53-48 after three quarters.

Prairie (3-0) tied the game 64-64 with 2:30 left and built a 69-64 lead.

But a pair of 3-pointers by Karley Eaton gave Mark Morris a 70-69 lead with 49 seconds left. Prairie trailed 71-69 when the Falcons got the ball with 14 seconds left.

Prairie’s Cori Woodward had 27 points and five assists before fouling out.

Eaton led Mark Morris (1-1) with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists.
