Vermont routs Hartford 82-56 for 6th win in row

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Sandro Carissimo tied a season-high with 16 points and Vermont defeated Hartford 82-56 on Saturday for its sixth straight victory.

Carissimo had a career-high eight rebounds for the Catamounts (15-10, 9-2 America East Conference), who have won six in a row.

Vermont broke open the game with a 31-2 run in the first half on the way to a 43-18 halftime lead. Hartford was 1 for 8 from the field with seven turnovers during the stretch. The Hawks made 6 of 24 field goal attempts in the first half and shot 35.4 percent (17 of 48) for the game.

Four McGlynn added 14 points for Vermont, which swept the season series and have won 13 straight against Hartford.

Vermont outrebounded Hartford 47-35 and forced 18 turnovers.

Yolonzo Moore II scored 17 points, Genesis Maciel added 13 and Andres Torres 11 for the Hawks (4-19, 4-7), who have dropped five straight.
