UPDATE: Crews restore power to about 900 throughout county

Winds likely responsible for outage

Clark Public Utilities crews Wednesday night responded to an estimated 900 customers without power in the Hazel Dell, Salmon Creek and Camas-Washougal areas.

The utility said 892 customers were affected in the large area. A crew of three senior linemen was sent to find the problem, likely a tree limb on a line, said utility spokeswoman Erica Erland.

Winds are a likely suspect, she said.

About 9:45 p.m., Erland said crews had restored power to all customers.

At that time, Erland said crews had not yet pinpointed the cause of the outage, but they planned to work all night, if necessary.

One customer emailed The Columbian that power was also out in the Walnut Grove-Green Meadows area, not far from Hazel Dell.
