SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Police say a 3-year-old child killed in a head-on crash north of Salem was sitting in her father’s lap in a mini-van when another car crossed the center line and collided with the vehicle.

The child was identified as Yamulet Torres-Ramirez. The Salem Statesman Journal reports (http://stjr.nl/syaa02 ) she was thrown from the mini-van.

State police say the driver of the car also was killed in the crash early Sunday. He was identified as 31-year-old Jose Gonzalez.

The Statesman Journal said 10 other people in the mini-van were taken to hospitals, and three were listed late Sunday in critical condition.
