Florida Atlantic beats FIU 66-64

MIAMI, Fla. (AP) — Greg Gantt scored 19 points and Jordan McCoy had a double-double to lead Florida Atlantic over Florida International 66-64 on Saturday.

The Owls (8-12, 4-3 Sun Belt Conference) had a slightly worse shooting day than FIU, making 46.9 percent (23 of 49) compared to 47.7 percent (21 of 44), but outrebounded the Panthers 33-21.

McCoy had 11 rebounds and 18 points and helped FAU put up 16 second-chance points, while the Panthers had just two.

Raymond Taylor added 14 points for the Owls, who won for the fifth straight time over FIU (5-14, 2-5).

FAU got big production from its bench, outscoring the Panthers non-starters 16-2.

Jeremy Allen led the Panthers with 20 points, shooting 4 of 5 from 3-point range. DeJuan Wright and Dominique Ferguson chipped in 14 points each and Phil Taylor had 11 for FIU.
