Construction crews will close a section of southbound Interstate 5 in Portland for the next two nights, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The southbound lanes of the Marquam Bridge will close at 11 p.m. both tonight and Saturday night while workers install ladders on a catwalk over I-5. The freeway will re-open by 7 a.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday, according to ODOT.

The work will also close one northbound lane on the Marquam Bridge, which carries I-5 over the Willamette River. A few freeway on-ramps in the construction area will also close.

Southbound motorists passing through Portland either night can take Interstate 405 to get around the work.
