INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Heavy favorite Dhaamer took advantage of a drop in class with a runaway victory Sunday in the $72,950 Round Table Stakes at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, 5-year-old Dhaamer was seventh in the field of eight for most of the first mile, made his way up to fourth and took the lead during the final turn, kicking away to beat Quaintly by 4 1/2 lengths.

The winner ran 1 1/2 miles on the turf in 2:27.65, and paid $4.20, $2.80 and $2.40. Quaintly returned $5.80 and $3.20, and 10-year-old Porfido, looking to become the oldest stakes winner in Hollywood Park history, paid $3.40 to show.

An Irish-bred gelding trained by Mike Mitchell for owner Edward J. Brown Jr., Dhaamer ran second and fourth in his previous two outings, both graded stakes. He was four victories in 13 lifetime starts with earnings of $114,272.
