Notacatbutallama, Mariel N Kathy win at Belmont

NEW YORK (AP) — Notacatbutallama and Mariel N Kathy won the $85,000 closing-day turf stakes for 2-year-olds on Sunday at Belmont Park.

Notacatbutallama, the 3-5 favorite, rallied four-wide to beat Bernie the Jet by 1 1/4 lengths in the Incurable Optimist with John Velazquez aboard for trainer Todd Pletcher. The colt got his second win in five starts, running a mile in 1:36.33. The win price was $3.30.

The Chelsea Flower for fillies went to a 7-1 shot as Mariel N Kathy bested Coconut Shrimp by 1 1/2 lengths with Jose Espinoza riding for trainer Dominic Schettino. Mariel N Kathy improved to 2 for 4, covering the same distance in 1:36.83 to deliver a $17.40 win payoff.
