Letter: Miracles combine faith and science

The Columbian
Published: August 3, 2013, 5:00pm

The news of the safe delivery of U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, and Daniel Beutler’s beautiful daughter Abigail is truly a miracle of love, faith and science. These young parents have been in the hearts and prayers of many people. When Herrera Beutler and her husband chose doctors at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, they chose the best. Because they did and because the serial amnioinfusion worked so remarkably well, little Abigail may be just the first of many babies to survive Potter’s syndrome. So we celebrate this wonderful child and her family.

Miracles do happen. I know because my brain tumor was successfully removed by the chief neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins 12 years ago.
