Young cook quoted in new book

Landover-Sharmel — The startup wisdom of a recent graduate of the Clark County Skills Center has been included in a new book about cooking and the business of cooking. Jessica Dix is profiled in “So, You Want to be a Chef? How to Get Started in the World of Culinary Arts.” The book by Jane Bedell which was published in October by Aladdin/Beyond Words. Inspiring stories from successful young cooks like Dix are offered along with a full list of resources. Dix, who has worked at the Grant House Restaurant, graduated from Ridgefield High School in June and will begin classes at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., in January.
