SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Rashad Muhammad came off the bench to score 19 points as San Jose State led all the way in an 87-59 victory over Division II Pacifica on Saturday.

Jaleel Williams scored 14 points for the Spartans and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Chris Cunningham and Devante Wilson added 13 points each. The Spartans finished with 24 more rebounds (57-33) than Pacifica, 20 of those coming from the defensive glass. San Jose State (6-6) never trailed in the matchup, and led by 16 points at the half (42-26) after Pacifica went more than 6 minutes without scoring.

Jonathan Earl led the Gladiators with 26 points and had the best shooting percentage (36 percent, 8 of 22) of the Pacifica players. The Gladiators combined for 28.4 percent shooting (19 of 67) and its bench was lacking in depth with only one player — Horace Nguyen — subbing in for the starters.
