Boys basketball: Columbia River 55, Prairie 49

Rian Bassett and Isaiah Smith led the way as Columbia River won a tight Class 3A Greater St. Helens League road game at Prairie on Tuesday, 55-49.

Bassett finished with 21 points, including a 3-pointer late in the third quarter which gave Columbia River a two-point lead.

Columbia River led 31-20 at halftime, but Prairie rallied to a three-point lead late in the third quarter.

For River, Smith had 16 points. He made eight free throws including going 6 for 6 in the fourth quarter.

James Phillips scored 13 points and Mason Pack 11 to lead a balanced Prairie offense.

Columbia River was 15 for 21 from the free throw line, while Prairie shot only nine foul shots.
