Burton/Evergreen — Evergreen High School’s robotics team The Green Wrenches made the semi-finals during the Dec. 15 BunnyBot Competition at Catlin Gabel School in Portland. Evergreen’s FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Team 2517 built a robot to pick up ping-pong balls and deposit them in a square goal. A wireless networking failure set the team back a bit, wrote Green Wrenches adviser Margaret Milem in an email, but the students were able to pull it together and enter the semifinals. The FIRST preseason BunnyBot event was hosted by Catlin Gabel’s robot-building team, the Flaming Chickens.
