DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) — El Commodore led all the way in winning the $85,000 Qualcomm OTL Purse by 212 lengths at Del Mar on Thursday.
Ridden by Hall of Famer Mike Smith, El Commodore ran a mile on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course in 1:32.99 and paid $13.20, $7.40 and $4.60 at 5-1 odds.
Ireland-bred Kid Edward returned $6.60 and $4.60, while Lucayan was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $3.20 to show.
El Commodore won for the sixth time in 30 career starts after shipping in from the East Coast.
