A man was arrested after an hour and a half standoff with Vancouver police in the Rose Village neighborhood Friday afternoon.

On Thursday night, Johnny L. Miller, 48, of Vancouver, was involved in a fight with family members involving a firearm, but he fled the residence before police arrived, said Vancouver police Sgt. Rod Trumpf.

On Friday, police responded to 3102 V St. at 12:45 p.m. to follow up on the previous night’s incident. Due to the potential weapon, police used an armored vehicle and called in SWAT team members to assist with the contact. Miller would not talk to police or open the front door until about 90 minutes passed. He peacefully surrendered and was booked into the Clark County Jail on domestic violence-related charges, Trumpf said.
