Another new hotel is planned for east Vancouver near the city’s bustling border with neighboring Camas, its developer, Bethesda, Md.-based Marriott International, announced today in a written statement.

The company expects to open the 115-unit TownePlace Suites by Marriott in July 2016, a spokeswoman said. It is the third hotel project planned or under construction in east Vancouver. Others include a 99-room Hampton Inn and Suites being built at Southwest Mill Plain Boulevard and 136th Avenue and an 83-room extended-stay Candlewood Hotel planned at 192nd Avenue and 20th Street.

The 115-unit TownePlace Suites will also be marketed as an extended stay facility. Units will feature full kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite counters, adjustable work spaces, large-screen televisions and luxurious bedding, according to the statement.

The hotel is planned as part of the Columbia Tech Center mixed-use development, a 404-acre master-planned site bordered by 164th and 192nd avenues and dissected by Mill Plain Boulevard. It is home to several Clark County employers, including PeaceHealth, Wacom and Nautilus Inc.
