A mother and her three children were displaced by a Tuesday night fire at an Ogden neighborhood duplex.

Vancouver firefighters were called to 3104 N.E. 86th Ave. just after 10 p.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the front door of one of the units, Battalion Chief Drew Tracy said.

The occupants were out of the residence by the time fire officials arrived.

The blaze was contained to a bedroom and a bathroom of the unit, but the fire had extended to the attic, Tracy said. Firefighters from four engines and two trucks doused the flames within 10 minutes.

Tracy said the damage was extensive, but the fire did not spread to the joined unit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
