An early evening fire on Monday left a duplex damaged but no injuries reported.

According to a statement from the Vancouver Fire Department, crews were called to a structure fire at 725 Southeast 135th Court shortly before 5:30 p.m. The caller said the fire had possibly reached a nearby structure.

The first crews to arrive found an arborvitae tree on fire and a single-story duplex with fire coming from the attic.

Residents of the home told firefighters that everyone had been evacuated, the statement said. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and stop the spread to any other areas of the house.

A total of five fire engines, one ladder truck, one squad, one brush rig and two battalion chiefs with 33 personnel responded to the fire.

The Red Cross was called to assist four adults and two children displaced by the fire.

The Clark County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
