A hazardous materials team removed homemade fireworks from Hayes Freedom High School in Camas on Wednesday afternoon. No one was in danger, so students were not alerted or evacuated, said Camas police Sgt. Scot Boyles.

Police were dispatched to the call at the school campus, 1919 N.E. Ione St., at 1:50 p.m.

A school resource officer found the fireworks and called on the hazmat team to dispose of it.
