Community notebook: Vancouver Lake Crew posts two victories

Two boats from Vancouver Lake Crew won their races at the Budd Inlet Regatta at Olympia on Saturday. The VLC boys eight-oar shell was the fastest around the course. And the VLC girls eight won their event.

The boys boat was coxswained by Natalie Huck. Rowing were Andrew Nevitt (stroke seat), Deryk Ahner, Niko John, Michael Hewitt, Tuck Wilcox, Gabe Epstein, Phillip Renton and Zach Greenen.

The girls eight was coxswained by Danielle Alder, with Gabi White (stroke seat), Katie Hickey, Caroline Kealoha, Ellie Varberg, Bonnie Davidson, Alexis Winnett, Gabrielle McClure, and Rylie Campbell.

Wrestling

The Evergreen Wrestling Officials Association is recruiting new officials for the 2013-14 middle school and high school season that begins at the end of October. Free training is provided for new officials. To learn more, contact Mike Jordan at groundmike@aol.com.
