Southbound lanes of Interstate 5 have reopened after an earlier multiple-vehicle crash blocked the left and center lanes near Mill Plain Boulevard.

The crash, reported at 7:22 a.m., involved five vehicles and there are injuries reported, though the extent of injuries was not yet available, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn.

The causing driver was the only person injured, Finn said, and that person was taken to an area hospital.

Traffic remains backed up to the 78th Street exit.

This story will be updated as information becomes available.
