Roads No. 26 and No. 99 on the east side of the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument are closing for the winter on Thursday.

The Forest Service reports slick conditions and rock slides on the two roads. Road No. 99 is the route leading to popular Windy Ridge Viewpoint.

Road No. 25, the main north-south route through the west side of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest will remain open until closed by snow.
