Mount Hood Meadows is putting chairlift operations on hold until more snow falls.

The resort had been operating its Buttercup chairlift and a jib park on an 11-inch base, supplemented by snow making and harvesting parking lot snow.

A forecast for 4 inches to 7 inches of snow on Monday did not materialize.

“We will resume operations as soon as there is enough snow depth — natural, machine-made or harvested — to offer a quality experience,” said Dave Tragethon, a Mount Hood Meadows spokesman, on Tuesday.

Timberline Lodge has a 16-inch base and is operating Bruno’s chairlift daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Palmer chairlift is operating 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Magic Mile running the same hours only to provide access to Palmer.

Mount Hood Skibowl is offering tubing from 10 to 4 p.m. Fridays through Sundays, plus night tubing from 5 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
