Mount Hood Meadows plans Saturday brewfest

Thirty or more microbrews will be available to taste from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Mount Hood Meadows’ Pray 4 Snow Winter Brewfest.

Admission costs $14 and includes a glass keepsake logoed mug and four drink coupons. Additional drink coupons may be purchased for $1 each.

The event will be at Vertical Cocina in the North Lodge. Portland band Keegan Smith and The Fam will play from 1 to 5 p.m.

The brewfest will be held regardless if Mount Hood Meadows has chairlifts operating or not. Resort officials are hopeful enough snow will fall or can be made to allow at least one chairlift to run.

Also planned is a “pineapple toss” money-raising event for the Northwest Avalanche Center.

Warmer than usual weather has stymied operations at Meadows this early season, brought on by a Pineapple Express weather pattern.

Catapults have been created to launch pineapples Saturday. Participants can pay $10 to launch a pineapple.
