Clark Public Utilities Commissioner Hanke to seek re-election

Clark Public Utilities Commissioner Byron Hanke will announce his candidacy for a third, six-year term on the utility’s three-member board at 10:30 a.m. today at Beaches Restaurant, 1919 S.E. Columbia River Drive, Vancouver.

Hanke holds the utility board’s District 3 position, which encompasses the downtown Vancouver area. He was elected in 2002 and re-elected in 2008. His current term expires this year. Hanke has a degree in business administration from the University of Washington. He served as executive director of the Port of Vancouver for 15 years. Before that, he held management positions during a 15-year career at Clark Public Utilities.
