While interviewing County Commissioner David Madore back in January, he broke some big news. Not only would there be an East County Bridge crossing the mighty Columbia River, we’d all be driving on it in five years! Certainly there are skeptics; there always are skeptics of those who have new visions.

Heck, Diogenes Laertius had his detractors about this round Earth suggestion. But could an East County Bridge really be up and running in just five years? As a public service, The Columbian is providing a five-year countdown cluck — sorry, clock — to keep us all on track. The clock began the moment Madore told me it would happen. Come back often to check back on the progress.
