A Vancouver man was arrested for allegedly firing a gun into the air to break up a fight in Vancouver’s Ogden neighborhood Sunday night.

Shawnte B. Jeffries, 29, of Vancouver was physically fighting with his girlfriend in the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market parking lot at 7809 N.E. Vancouver Plaza Drive about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

Jeffries’ brother Deangelo J. Johnson, 26, tried to break up the fight by firing a weapon in the air, Kapp said.

Johnson was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm, and Jeffries was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree domestic violence assault.
