Ridgefield — The student body at South Ridge Elementary School is collaborating on an illustrated book that will be completed at the end of the school year. All classes have a say in the creation of the book, with their contributions being saved online through the cloud so other students can add to the work. Sixth graders came up with the first bits of what will become a full-fledged story. So far, the book will focus on an old man who lives in a shack by the river and kidnaps a roadrunner, which is the school’s mascot. Different grade levels are contributing as they learn more about storytelling and writing. The book will be illustrated with student drawings.
