Police: Woman swimming in river gets out, steals vehicle

A woman who was reportedly swimming in the Columbia River got out and stole a vehicle at the Port of Vancouver early this morning, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

An employee at the port, 1200 Port Way, reported at about 7:15 a.m. that she saw the woman swimming. The employee said the woman then get out of the water and stole a truck, which she later crashed, Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The woman, identified as Michele M. Milligan, 45, was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, malicious mischief and a District Court warrant.
