A Vancouver man was injured Saturday when he was thrown from his motorcycle on state Highway 503 in Cowlitz County, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Hyzon F. Santiago, 27, was riding south on the highway near Milepost 28 at about 3:45 p.m. when his 2004 Yamaha sport motorcycle went off the road on a curve. He was thrown from the bike, the WSP reported.

Santiago, who had been wearing a helmet, was transported by Life Flight helicopter to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, where he was reported in satisfactory condition Saturday night.

The WSP reported that Santiago had been riding too fast for conditions.
