A porta-potty at a Vancouver construction site was set on fire early this morning, according to fire investigators.

The Vancouver Fire Department responded to the area of Northeast 39th Street and Northeast St. Johns Road at about 1:47 a.m.

The portable toilet, located at a site where a home is being built, was destroyed by the blaze, said Chad Lawry, lead deputy fire marshal for the city.

The investigation ruled that the fire was arson, Lawry said. He added that there was no indication that Thursday’s fire was connected to last month’s series of fires set to garbage cans, fences and other items on Vancouver’s west side.
