Image Elementary School in east Vancouver was locked down for about two hours Monday while police searched for a suspicious subject near the school.

At 2:38 p.m., police got a call about a person near Northeast 122nd Avenue and 49th Street who lifted his shirt up to reveal what appeared to be a gun in his waistband, Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said. Police and a K-9 unit searched for the suspect in the area.

Police took a 14-year-old boy into custody around 4:30 p.m., Kapp said. The lockdown was lifted shortly after that.
